“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

The Lord’s faithfulness continues to take hold of my life. When I seek to take control and plan each step, I remember that it is ultimately out of my power. Through God’s continuous redirection I have found peace in His plan. The lord gives His peace freely, but to receive this gift I must step away from the comfortable position of being in control. I have learned that to live my life faithfully to the Lord is to release myself from these burdens of control. I strive to follow in the footsteps of my Savior and to trust the path God has set for me, loving others the way Jesus did and abiding in the Lord in every situation. The Lord has now led me to the World Race and I am so excited to see what He reveals to me over this 9 month mission trip.

Why the World Race you may ask? Well, I have always been intrigued by mission trips. To step out of my comfort zone and to experience God in other cultures is a transformative opportunity. I am excited to be a part of God’s mission and see how He affects people all around the world, witnessing the diverse cultures in which He displays his glory. It is a unique opportunity to serve the way Jesus serves us. The Gap Year is a way to make disciples of all nations and encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. During this trip, I hope to grow towards Jesus, learning to love the way He loves and be a reflection of Him. I long to understand more about His mission and what part He calls me to play. I want to serve Him as his daughter and live in His overwhelming peace.

Thank you so much for your time!

     God bless,

  4. I thought of you on your adventure when I read this poem:

“For as each day unfolds its light,
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight,
Life will, indeed, a blessing bring,
If we SEE GOD IN EVERTHING.” A. E. Finn
